PLANTING OF SEEDS

This stage is a must do for a farmer who deals with plants that won’t grow at all or won’t grow well when their seeds are put directly into the soil ion the farm. 1. Seed soaking
This is a process of seed treatment that entails the soaking of seeds in fairly warm water. For effective seed soaking as a means of seed treatment a farmer is advised to soak his or her seeds in warm water for a duration of between 24 hours and 48 hours.
2. Seed cleaning
This is a process of seed treatment that is performed on seeds that are easily attacked by insects and plagues. The washing of these seeds therefore rids the seeds of these plagues and insects making the seeds safe for growing. Majorly it is fruit seeds that are treated by washing. For effective seed washing a farmer is advised to let the fruit stay in water that has a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius for about twenty minutes. The fairly hot water is meant to kill any insect and also plague that is on the surface of the seed.
